Group and Individual Counseling
CFLS serves a diverse group. Some of our clients have simply fallen on hard times and need to find a job to get back on their feet or have had trouble finding affordable housing. Others have escaped domestic violence, are recovering from drug or alcohol abuse, while still others are struggling with mental illness.
The Health and Wellness staff works closely with case managers to assess the needs of each individual client. In addition to individual counseling, the staff conducts mandatory and voluntary group counseling sessions on a weekly basis with our housing and employment services clients.
Counselors also offer special HIV/AIDS counseling to individuals in CFLS housing who are living with HIV/AIDS.
The group sessions give clients the opportunity to learn from and support each other, while the individual sessions give them the confidentiality and privacy to resolve painful or difficult issues.
