Food Pantry
At CFLS, we do not want a family to have to make the tough decision between paying for their rent or providing food for their children, so we distribute bags of food to low-income families and individuals every week. We also take groceries to low-income, homebound seniors every month. Food we provide to families and seniors is purchased from the Capital Area Food Bank at a non-profit rate and donated from various other groups.
To find out if you are eligible to receive food from our food pantry, and to make an apointment to pick up your grocery bag please click here.
What we need:
We are chronically short of canned meats to distribute to our clients. Community groups, churches, synagogues, and offices are encouraged to hold food drives that can help keep our pantry stocked to ensure that the families we serve do not have to go without food. For more information about the items that you can donate to help feed hungry families, or to learn how to organize a food drive at your church, school, or office, please click here.
If you are interested in volunteering to help bag the food or to deliver grocery bags to seniors, please click here to learn how to get involved.
