Supportive Services & Community Outreach
The staff of CFLS' Supportive Services & Community Outreach Department work hard to meet short-term and emergency needs. When crisis strikes, we help low-income families and individuals avoid desperate choices and homelessness by providing them food, clothing, and assistance with rent, mortgage and/or utility payments. We also help with the little things people need to get back on their feet, such as fees for work identification.
These services provide the first line of defense for someone living precariously. For more information and eligibility requirements, please click on one of the links above or to the left.
How We've Helped:
In FY 2003-2004, we provided emergency services to 8,650 clients by:
-
Distributing 57,495 pounds of food to low-income families and homebound seniors;
-
Preventing evictions for 240 families and individuals through rental and utility assistance; and,
-
Helping 605 children and their families celebrate the holidays.
