Current and On Going Volunteer Needs

Employment Assitant

Community Family Life Services Employment department is currently seeking volunteers to assist clients in the employment center. Tasks would include monitoring the use of computers; clearing the voice mail boxes and posting messages on the message board; posting flyers for job opportunities; providing basic assistance on cover letters and resumes; answering questions about job interviews; etc. Volunteer opportunities are available Monday and Wednesday, between 10am and 1pm.  This is a wonderful opportunity to assist low-income and homeless families and individuals move towards economic sustainability.

Receptionist

Community Family Life Services (CFLS) needs volunteers to help staff the reception desk.   Volunteers will answer and direct telephone calls, interact with clients, and help with basic clerical work.  This is a great opportunity to be involved in the community and help people receive the services they need to move out of poverty and towards self-sufficiency.  Volunteer time is available Monday through Friday between 10am and 2pm.  Volunteers are asked to make a minimum of 2-3 hour commitment per week.

Clerical Assistance

You can serve the homeless and low-income population of DC by providing administrative assistance. From fundraising to social service issues, you can learn a lot while you support our staff and clients. Weekday, daytimes.  Email interest to volunteer@cflsdc.org

Maintenance Projects

If you enjoying painting, cleaning, landscaping  come and volunteer at one of our housing sites and help to maintain a clean, safe, and aesthetic environment.  Opportunities are available during the weekdays between 9am and 5pm.
